Law enforcement met with the justice’s security detail and confirmed the call was a hoax.
Fairfax County police received a “swatting call” on their non-emergency line for the Virginia residence of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
The police department stated, “Officers immediately coordinated with Supreme Court Police personnel assigned to the residence and quickly determined that the report was fictitious. No additional police resources were utilized.”
“Swatting” is the false reporting of an emergency situation to elicit an armed response by law enforcement. The sinister practice harasses, intimidates, and even endangers the lives of the innocent and unsuspecting residents. The incidences of swatting have increased dramatically in recent years.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God’s protection over federal officials as they face increased threats to their safety.
- For members of the Secret Service and other security details as they stand watch to guard the president, members of his administration, legislators, and Supreme Court justices.
- For the Lord to draw the hearts of the people to Him to live in peace and harmony.
