Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. – Jeremiah 33:3
Don’t you enjoy being invited to a party or special event? Particularly when the invitation comes from someone who holds an important place in your life. Imagine how Jeremiah must have felt when God invited him to call on Him and promised to reveal His secrets. The Lord proceeded to tell Jeremiah His great plans of restoration, prosperity, and peace to Israel after the Babylonian captivity.
How wonderful for Christians today when the same invitation is extended to believers! God not only promises answers, He also promises His presence. “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them” (Matthew 18:19-20).
While you may be tempted to feel discouraged when you don’t receive an answer to a longstanding prayer, or if the answer is not what you expected. The Lord invites you to move closer to Him in prayer. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). Jesus taught diligence and determination in prayer with the story of the persistent widow who would not give up seeking justice from an apathetic judge (Luke 18:1-14). The ultimate prayer request is to have a deeper relationship with the Lord. Ask Him to reveal to you today how to pray and prepare for His plans for this nation.

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
