It has been said, “A broken heart is an open heart.” While there may be truth to that statement, when grief and tragedy wound your life, trusting God with your open and broken heart may become a challenge. It is not a spiritual achievement to deny your hurt. To receive the type of healing God offers requires acknowledging the reality of your life, especially when it hurts. Those who trust Him with their suffering experience His restoring touch.
The Bible tells a love story of restoration from the ravages of sin for both humankind and Earth. This redemption is moving through time toward a perfect completion. The earth groans for renewal, and you yearn for perfection.
The book of Revelation offers a glimpse of that completed process: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:3-5).
There is pain and sorrow in this world, but you can stand strong in the hope that God will heal, restore, and renew. You are invited to enjoy life in His presence forever. Pray for governing officials in the United States to seek God’s guidance and bring healing to the hurting and wounded nation.
