A DHS official said the Indian national “should never have been behind the wheel of a semi-truck.”
The Transportation Department announced that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is investigating the approval of a commercial driver’s license (CDL) by the state of California to an illegal alien from India. The driver caused a fatal wreck this week near Lodi, California, after failing to stop for halted traffic. He was apprehended by California Highway Patrol after fleeing the scene. Two people died and five others were injured in the collision.
“California issued this driver a commercial driver’s license in March 2025. In February of this year, I issued a rule to stop unqualified, untrained foreign drivers like this accused killer from getting CDLs to drive on America’s roads,“ Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated. “FMCSA investigators are looking into how this illegal got his CDL and will investigate the trucking company who employed this driver.“
“This criminal illegal alien from India should never have been behind the wheel of a semi-truck and allowed to kill two innocent people in a multi-vehicle crash in California,” said Acting Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Lauren Bis. “He is now charged with vehicular manslaughter, hit and run resulting in death or injury, and resisting a police officer. This is yet another example of why illegal aliens should not be operating trucks on American highways.”
Both Secretary Duffy and Acting Assistant Secretary Bis called on Congress to pass Dalilah’s Law to prohibit states from granting illegal aliens commercial driver’s licenses.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Duffy and Administrator Barrs as they oversee investigations into states issuing CDLs to illegal aliens.
- For Secretary Mullin and Acting Assistant Secretary Bis as they seek to improve and increase homeland security.
