Maritime Administration awards $774 million to improve infrastructure.
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Maritime Administration (MARAD) announced $774 million in funding for 37 port projects across coastal, Great Lakes, and inland waterways. The investments aim to improve freight movement, expand capacity, and strengthen supply chain operations through upgrades such as rail connections, cargo terminals, and security systems.
“U.S. ports keep our grocery store shelves stocked, our energy supply chains resilient, and our export market strong,” said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
“These port improvements will have generational impacts and enhance the nation’s short and long-term economic competitiveness,” said MARAD Administrator Stephen Carmel.
The funding comes through the Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP), which supports modernization efforts at more than 300 U.S. ports operated by a mix of public and private entities.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
