President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are hosting a State Arrival Ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House for King Charles and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom.
The White House stated, “Drawing upon a tradition that dates back to the 18th century, the President and First Lady will proudly mark the official arrival of Their Majesties with a traditional military arrival ceremony with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Herald Trumpets. National anthems of both countries will be played by ‘The President’s Own‘ United States Marine Band, with the Presidential Salute Battery rendering a 21-gun cannon salute.“
King Charles will be addressing a joint session of Congress today as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence from British rule.
This evening, the president and first lady are holding a State Dinner for the royal couple in the East Room of the White House.
