Congressman Faces Calls to Resign, May Face Expulsion

Representative Luna stated she would file a motion for his expulsion from Congress.

Representative Eric Swalwell of California has suspended his candidacy for governor of his state after multiple allegations of sexual harassment were reported.

Congressman Swalwell stated, “To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.”

Representative Anna Paulina Luna of Florida said she would file a motion for expulsion from the House due to his misconduct. She said, “It is unacceptable for him to just index his campaign for governor in California but still sit in the House of Representatives.“

Congresswoman Luna stated, “At the end of the day, this is about accountability for the American people. This should not be happening in the House of Representatives. It is unacceptable, and, frankly, I don’t think that they deserve taxpayer dollar paychecks while they’re going through all this.”

Expulsion from the House of Representatives requires a two-thirds majority vote.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Representative Swalwell to be honest and forthright in response to the harassment and assault charges.
  • For wisdom for Representative Luna and others who are considering the expulsion of Mr. Swalwell and others of their colleagues for ethical violations.
