DOJ Civil Rights Division to Review NYC Mayor’s “Equity Plan“

He said the plan is designed to resolve “decades of discrimination.”

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon stated that the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division will review New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s racial equity plan, which his office explained would correct the history of “colonization, exploitation, and racial oppression.”

Mayor Mamdani announced, “While today’s true cost of living measure confirms that the affordability crisis touches every corner of our city, we know that these effects are not applied evenly. So often, it is black and brown New Yorkers who are hit the hardest.”

He continued, “This preliminary racial equity plan is the first step in developing a whole-of-government approach to tackling that reality. It is a plan that lays out these first steps to solve decades of neglect and discrimination.”

Assistant Attorney General Dhillon briefly responded to the proposal, “Sounds fishy/illegal. Will review!” She later wrote that the proposal “reeks of equal protection violations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Assistant Attorney General Dhillon as she seeks to ensure civil rights protections for Americans.
  • For wisdom for governors and mayors across the nation to abide by federal civil rights regulations.
