Penalties for flights that endanger public safety or restricted airspace were updated.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced increased enforcement for violations of drone operations in 2025. Multiple drone operators have been fined and had their licenses suspended or revoked for unauthorized or unsafe flights conducted between 2023 and 2025. Violations included operating near emergency response efforts, restricted airspace, major sporting events, and public gatherings.
The FAA updated its enforcement policy this year to require legal action when drone operations endanger the public, violate airspace restrictions, or are linked to criminal activity.
“The FAA will take decisive action against drone operators who ignore safety rules or operate without authorization,” said FAA Chief Counsel Liam McKenna. “These unsafe operations create serious risks, and the FAA will hold operators fully accountable for any violations.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Administrator Bryan Bedford as he heads the Federal Aviation Administration.
- For Chief Counsel Liam McKenna as he oversees enforcement consistent with federal regulations.
- For drone operators to observe and comply with FAA rules and regulations when operating the aircraft.
