The man refused to drop with weapon when confronted by the Secret Service and county law enforcement.
A North Carolina man, who had been reported missing by his family on Saturday, was killed by the Secret Service and a Palm Beach County deputy early Sunday after attempting to breach President Donald Trump’s resort home, Mar-a-Lago, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The man, who was in his twenties, was carrying a shotgun and a fuel can.
“He was ordered to drop those two pieces of equipment he had with him, at which time he put down the gas can, raised the shotgun to a shooting position,” the Palm Beach County sheriff said. “At that point in time, the deputy and the two Secret Service agents fired their weapons and neutralized the threat. He is deceased at the scene.”
Neither President Trump nor any of his family was at home at the time.
“[The] FBI is dedicating all necessary resources in the investigation of this morning’s incident at President Trump’s Mar-A-Lago — where an armed individual was shot and killed after unlawfully entering the perimeter,” FBI Director Kash Patel stated. “We will continue working closely with Secret Service as well our state and federal partners and will provide updates as we are able.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Director Patel and FBI officials as they work with the Secret Service and local law enforcement on the investigation.
- For Secret Service agents as they protect the president, vice president, and other governing officials.
- For God’s protection over President Trump and members of his Cabinet.
