A man who plotted to assassinate President Donald Trump in Florida in 2024 has been sentenced to life in prison, plus seven years. Ryan Routh was convicted of attempted assassination for actions taken at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, where he pointed a military grade SKS rifle through a fence at President Trump and a Secret Service agent. At the time, President Trump was a candidate running for his second term.
Routh received a psychiatric evaluation before the trial. He was diagnosed with bipolar and narcissistic personality disorder. He represented himself until he was convicted, at which time a court-appointed attorney represented him for sentencing. The attorney is filing an appeal of the conviction and sentence.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the appellate panel that hears the appeal of the attempted assassin’s conviction and sentence.
- For judges throughout the federal judiciary to receive wisdom from the Lord as they hear and rule on cases.
- For God’s protection over President Trump and all elected and appointed officials from political violence.
- For members of the Secret Service to be vigilant as they protect the president and other federal officials.
