President Trump Discusses Iran with Chinese President

The two leaders also discussed trade and Taiwan.

President Donald Trump spoke with China’s President Xi Jinping this week about the ongoing situation in Iran. The U.S. engaged in talks with Iran regarding its brutal recent crackdown on protestors, as well as a deal to prevent the development of a nuclear and missile program in Iran. China is currently Iran’s largest trading partner.

President Trump stated after the call, “The relationship with China, and my personal relationship with President Xi, is an extremely good one, and we both realize how important it is to keep it that way.”

President Trump and President Xi discussed other important issues, including trade between the two nations, Taiwan, and President Trump’s plans to visit Beijing in April. Both presidents are expected to attend major summits this year, which will provide additional opportunities for them to meet.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he discusses trade and international security concerns with foreign heads of state.
  • For wisdom for the president as he decides how to move forward regarding the situation in Iran.
  • For God’s guidance for U.S. officials as they seek peaceful interactions with other nations.
