President Donald Trump has announced the administration’s plans to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in the coming months, with the founding of a new nonpartisan organization called Freedom 250. The organization will coordinate with other groups, including the White House Task Force 250, the America250 Commission, and other federal departments, to plan and deliver different events that will happen across the nation.
President Trump stated in a video message, “To help carry out these exciting plans, we have created a new public-private partnership. It’s called Freedom 250. Working with states, companies, and organizations across the country, we will renew the patriotism, pride, and pioneering spirit of America and lay the groundwork for the next 250 years of independence and freedom. This will be a time like you’ve never had in your lives, America 250. Thank you, I love you all,” he said in the video message.
Among the celebrations for the coming year are the illumination of the Washington Monument with birthday lights, the Great American State Fair, which will be held from June 25 to July 10, and a four-day-long athletic event for high school athletes called the “Patriot Games.”
Speaking of the upcoming festivities, President Trump said, “As a nation, we should be preparing for the most spectacular birthday party. We want to make it the best of all time.”
