President Donald Trump is hosting President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and President Paul Kagame of Rwanda to ratify a U.S.-brokered peace and economic agreement that was signed by their respective foreign ministers in June.

President Trump said back in June, “It is one of the worst, one of the worst wars anyone’s ever seen… But today, the violence and destruction comes to an end, and the entire region begins a new chapter of hope and opportunity, harmony, prosperity, and peace.”
The conflict has claimed more than six million lives and is related to competition over Congo’s critical minerals that are essential to the production of electronics and electric vehicles. In September, the two nations agreed to begin implementing security measures in the deal by the end of this year.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to be led by the Lord as he oversees the ratification of the Rwanda-Congo peace agreement.
- For the president and the secretary of state in their efforts to enact peace deals in global conflicts.
- For U.S. envoys and ambassadors as they negotiate with international heads of state.
