DHS secretary says exceptional TSA agents will receive bonuses, and President Trump recommends bonuses for patriotic air traffic controllers.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced that Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents who provided “exemplary service” during the government shutdown would receive ten thousand dollar bonuses. The funding would reportedly come from funds carried over from fiscal year 2025.
Secretary Noem stated the bonuses “for stepping up, taking on extra shifts, for showing up each and every day” would be in addition to back pay.
The DHS secretary said, “We will be continuing to not only recognize employees across the country, but we will be looking at every single TSA official who helped serve during this government shutdown, and do what we can to recognize that and help them financially with a bonus check to get them and their family back on their feet.”
As members of Congress worked to pass funding legislation last week, President Trump similarly stated, “For those Air Traffic Controllers who were GREAT PATRIOTS, and didn’t take ANY TIME OFF for the [government shutdown], I will be recommending a BONUS of $10,000 per person for distinguished service to our Country.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Noem to seek the Lord as she heads the Department of Homeland Security and its many agencies.
- For President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they seek to reward the diligence of federal employees who worked without pay through the government shutdown.
