Autumn at the Capitol

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs’ Subcommittee on Africa, chaired by Representative Chris Smith of New Jersey, is holding a hearing on President Trump’s redesignation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern.

President Trump recently warned the Nigerian government to protect its Christian population from being killed by violent Islamists.

The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, is considering the president’s nominees for positions in the Justice Department and on the federal bench. Other Senate committees are considering their respective nominees to the Departments of State, Commerce, Agriculture, and Health and Human Services.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the House subcommittee as they discuss the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
  • For Senators as they evaluate and vote on the president’s appointees for federal posts.
  • For President Trump to be led by the Lord as he implements his agenda during his second term.
