Deputy Attorney General Warns CA Officials Not to Interfere with ICE Raids

Immigration and Customs Enforcement
Representatives Pelosi and Mullin threatened ICE Agents with arrest in San Francisco.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche warned California officials not to interfere with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations that have begun in San Francisco after Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Kevin Mullin of California stated that local law enforcement may arrest federal agents for violating state laws, such as for excessive use of force.

The former House speaker stated, “Our state and local authorities may arrest federal agents if they break California law — and if they are convicted, the President cannot pardon them.”

The deputy attorney general sent a letter to  Governor Gavin Newsom, state Attorney General Rob Bonta, Congresswoman Pelosi, and San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, citing federal statutes that criminalize the assault, impediment, or conspiracy against federal officers. He also emphasized the supremacy clause of the Constitution that prohibits state officials from prosecuting federal agents for their actions while they are fulfilling their duties.

Deputy Attorney General Blanche stated on social media, “We just sent them a letter: Stand down or face prosecution. No one threatens our agents. No one will stop us from Making America Safe Again.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be discerning in his deployment of National Guard troops.
  • For the safety of ICE agents as they conduct immigration enforcement operations.
  • For officials in the Justice Department as they defend the authority of federal law enforcement.
  • For California state and local police to uphold the law with honesty and integrity.
