State Department issued a warning of a planned attack by Hamas on Palestinian civilians.
President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire agreement is still in place and in force despite the U.S. State Department’s release of information on a planned attack on Palestinian civilians by Hamas. Vice President JD Vance joined Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner in Israel on Tuesday to continue to ensure the ceasefire holds.
On Saturday, State Department Spokeperson Tammy Bruce released a statement that said the “planned attack against Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and grave violation of the ceasefire agreement and undermine the significant progress achieved through mediation efforts. The guarantors demand Hamas uphold its obligations under the ceasefire terms.”
“Should Hamas proceed with this attack, measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza and preserve the integrity of the ceasefire,” she continued. “The United States and the other guarantors remain resolute in our commitment to ensuring the safety of civilians, maintaining calm on the ground, and advancing peace and prosperity for the people of Gaza and the region as a whole.”
President Trump said that Hamas has “been quite rambunctious. He said, “They’ve been doing some shooting and we think maybe the leadership isn’t involved in that. Some rebels within, but either way, it’s going to be handled properly.”
Hamas executed several Palestinians publicly who were accused of collaborating with Israel. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) conducted strikes in Gaza after Hamas killed two IDF soldiers in Rafah. The IDF later stated that it “renewed enforcement of the cease-fire.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump and Vice President Vance as they work to ensure the ceasefire holds.
- For Secretary of State Rubio, Envoy Witkoff, and Jared Kushner as they support the terms of the first phase of the peace deal in Gaza.
