FBI director responds to Senator Hawley’s letter requesting investigations and prosecutions.
Senators announced Monday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation accessed the call information of several legislators between December 2020 and January 2021, during President Donald Trump’s attempt to challenge the results of the 2020 election. An investigation, headed by former special counsel Jack Smith, also illegally accessed and monitored the records of other individuals and organizations supporting the president’s reelection.
Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, chair of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, denounced these actions during a press conference, calling it a “fishing expedition” that “should outrage and shock every American.”
Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri stated, “This is outrageous… It’s blatantly unconstitutional. It’s a violation of the First Amendment, it’s a violation of the separation of powers. And it also goes to show you the extent to which the Biden administration was so corrupt, using the FBI to target their political enemies.“
Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel has since terminated employees from the agency who were involved in the illegal monitoring.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Director Patel to receive God’s guidance as he works to ensure the FBI is operating according to the U.S. Constitution and federal laws.
- For members of the House and Senate as they conduct and respond to investigations.
