The Justice Department had requested its removal after increasing attacks on ICE agents.
Apple announced that it removed an app from its app store used to track Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The developer, who created the free app ICEBlock to report and track sightings of ICE activity, was told by Apple that the app was removed due to “objectionable content.” Federal officials reported that a man who shot and killed two detainees and then himself at an ICE facility in Dallas used the tracking app before the attack.
“We reached out to Apple… demanding they remove the ICEBlock app from their App Store — and Apple did so,” U.S. Attorney General Bondi said. “ICEBlock is designed to put ICE agents at risk just for doing their jobs, and violence against law enforcement is an intolerable red line that cannot be crossed. This Department of Justice will continue making every effort to protect our brave federal law enforcement officers, who risk their lives every day to keep Americans safe.”
“We created the App Store to be a safe and trusted place to discover apps,” Apple stated. “Based on information we’ve received from law enforcement about the safety risks associated with ICEBlock, we have removed it and similar apps from the App Store.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Director Lyons to be prudent in his management of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
- For wisdom for Attorney General Bondi as she oversees the DOJ’s legal cases and follows up on referrals from federal investigations.
