HHS Secretary Hosts Long COVID Roundtables

Secretary Kennedy convened meeting of patients, experts, and legislators to discuss care, research, and national response.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. recently led two “roundtables” focused on Long COVID, bringing together patients, caregivers, clinicians, and advocates to share experiences and outline strategies for improving care and advancing research. U.S. Senators Roger Marshall of Kansas and Todd Young of Indiana participated in the discussions, which outlined the ongoing impact of Long COVID on millions of Americans since the official end of the pandemic.

“This was not a listening session — it was an action session,” Secretary Kennedy said. “We are driving solutions to diagnose, prevent, and treat Long COVID, and we stand with the patients and families whose lives it has disrupted… By listening to patients and working with advocates and clinicians, we will bring invisible illnesses out of the shadows and restore hope to those affected.”

During the event, HHS announced several initiatives, including a national awareness campaign to provide accurate information about Long COVID, a new open-source platform where medical professionals can share best practices, and the release of a new report from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality examining insurance coverage for adults with Long COVID.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Kennedy to seek God’s direction as he manages the Department of Health and Human Services.
  • For the secretary and all the leaders of U.S. health agencies to be discerning in their review of scientific research and adoption of proposals.
