A Blessed Nation

Does America qualify for God’s blessing?

Psalm 33:12  – Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

God, Who showed Himself sovereign over history and the nations in ages past is the same God Who guides and rules over nations today.  The message of the Lord was then as succinct and sharp as it is today.  “Let all the earth fear the Lord, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!” (Psalm 33:8).

People that came to the New World in centuries past did not come seeking riches or treasure, but they were seeking an opportunity to worship God as they knew Him to be.  Later, as the people sought to have a single government, the Founding Fathers prayed. Many of their concepts consecrated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, come from the knowledge of God and His commandments.

For years, the United States has been the world’s superpower. But that identity is being threatened, by powerhouse nations like China and Russia, by rogue nations like North Korea and Iran, and by internal sub-marginal groups that run roughshod across America’s cities without being held accountable for their misdeeds. Even among political parties, the phrase “under God” was omitted from the Pledge of Allegiance during a recent convention.

Abortions by the millions are allowed, but singing in churches is not permitted due to a viral plague.  The Bible is mocked as irrelevant. God has been made over in the image of mankind—an image that differs from person to person as each one sets his own “moral compass” with no idea of Who created true north.

So why should God bless America? Is this a nation that honors the Lord?  The politicians are right for the wrong reasons: America is at a crossroads. We stand at a pivot point in history. The people will vote in November, but when will they repent?

Pray With Us

Holy God, You are the Father of mercies, but you are also a Righteous Judge whose heart must grieve when You look upon this nation that You have blessed with so much abundance.  I desire to live in hope and on your future blessings. I ask, Lord, for a mighty wind of revival to cross this nation, and that, as a people, we would see the folly of our ways and turn back to You. Bless us and our children, this generation and the generations yet to come, by Your grace. In Your Holy Name, I pray,

Amen.
