The Supreme Court will start hearing oral arguments this week as the justices begin the fall term.
The justices will consider whether federal law precludes state-law claims that seek relief for alleged injuries due to interstate and international greenhouse gas emissions.
They will also determine whether the Veterans’ Judicial Review Act strips district courts of the jurisdiction, recognized by Supreme Court precedent, to hear challenges to the constitutionality of Congress’ acts affecting veterans’ benefits.
