President Donald Trump is holding a meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei at the White House today to discuss artificial intelligence (AI).
President Trump announced the creation of an “AI Force“ last week, stating, “We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows!“
President Trump, who had dinner with Mr. Amodei on Sunday, stated, “We’re about maybe a year and a half up on China. We’re leading, and we’re building tremendous, trillions of dollars’ worth of places. And why should we give that up?“
Regarding the regulation of artificial intelligence, Speaker Johnson said, “There’ll be a deliberate discussion about the responsibility of the companies to maintain safety, and what role, if any, the government has to play in that.”
