President Announces Rescue of American Missionary Kidnapped in Niger

Flag and Cross
A terrorist group took the man hostage last year.

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that an American pilot for the Christian missionary group SIM International has been rescued after being kidnapped last year and held by a terrorist group in Niger.

President Trump stated, “I am proud to announce that Kevin Rideout, a wonderful Christian Missionary, is back in United States Custody. Kevin was kidnapped by Jihadi terrorists in West Africa — The epicenter of Islamist terrorism, where there have been more deadly attacks in the past year than anywhere else on Earth.”

He added, “Kevin, the United States of America looks forward to welcoming you HOME. Glad to have helped!”

In December of last year, the president had ordered drone strikes against the Islamic terrorists in Northwest Nigeria, just south of Niger. President Trump stated at the time that the ISIS insurgents had been “targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and officials in his administration as they work to get Americans released who have been captured.
  • For discernment for the president and diplomats as they negotiate for the return of U.S. citizens who have been wrongfully detained.
