Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau is concluding travel to Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana today.
State Department Spokesperson Tommy Pigott said that, in Guyana, “Deputy Secretary Landau will meet with President Irfaan Ali and cabinet members to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation and strengthening bilateral investment opportunities.” He added that the visit would also focus on collaboration in strategic sectors including energy and critical minerals.
In Trinidad and Tobago, Deputy Secretary Landau met with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to discuss shared energy and security priorities and advance economic cooperation.
Spokesperson Pigott stated, “Deputy Secretary Landau’s visit underscores the United States’ commitment to strengthening partnerships across our hemisphere and advancing shared priorities, including regional security, energy resilience, and economic prosperity.”
