Congressman Introduces Impeachment Articles Against Federal Judge

She ruled that the president’s administration could not end TPS for Somali nationals despite the Supreme Court’s precedent.

Representative Andy Ogles of Tennessee has filed impeachment articles against District Judge Allison Burroughs after she issued a stay to stop President Trump’s administration from terminating the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somalis. The Supreme Court ruled earlier this summer that the Department of Homeland Security generally has jurisdiction over the TPS program.

Congressman Ogles stated in his impeachment resolution, “In issuing this stay, Judge Burroughs attempted to get around the Supreme Court’s ruling in Mullin v. Doe by entertaining spurious allegations of racial and national-origin discrimination against an Administration that has chosen to not renew a single temporary protected status designation.“

“This judicial activist’s obstruction of the people’s will must be stopped,” Representative Ogles said. “Judge Burroughs must be impeached.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the House of Representatives as they consider the impeachment articles for judges who ignore Supreme Court precedents.
  • For House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune to be prudent as they preside over their respective congressional chambers.
