If you could see over the horizon of time, what would you want to know about the future? According to Pew Research, around 30 percent of U.S. adults consult psychic services at least once a year. Though the majority claim their consultation of horoscopes, tarot cards, or fortune tellers is “for fun,” about 27 percent state they believe in astrology, and a small fraction rely heavily on these practices to make life choices. It is not surprising that people grasp at anything they perceive might prepare them for what will happen next.

Times of social upheaval and distress fuel extreme behavior. Marketers peddle fear, encouraging you to purchase expensive and unneeded products “just in case.” People who typically donate may stop supporting charitable efforts in order to stockpile resources. But there can never be enough money, food, or protection to have a completely secure future.

Whatever happens tomorrow, you can be sure it is part of God’s redemptive plan playing out for both Earth and humankind. He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). As events transpire to bring both people and nations to the knowledge of God’s Son and His glory, the Lord promises to take care of you and refine you (Isaiah 43:2; Zechariah 13:9; Malachi 3:2). That is what you really need to know about the future.

“God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him” (1 Thessalonians 5:9). Pray for churches and believers across America, and around the world, to be bold in living by and sharing God’s Word and the promises of His grace, for today and every tomorrow to come.
