The woman was visiting relatives in the country when she was detained.
President Donald Trump announced that Iran has released a U.S.-Iranian dual citizen as a goodwill gesture. Dena Karari was visiting family in Iran when she was detained and held by the regime since December 2024.
President Trump stated, “Iran has allowed an American Citizen, who was wrongfully detained in December of 2024… to leave the Country. She is now safely outside of Iran, and in good condition. The United States of America appreciates this gesture of Goodwill by Iran!”
The international human rights lawyer representing the woman said that Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security had interrogated and imprisoned her on bogus charges, causing “enormous physical and psychological hardship.” He credited President Trump’s “extraordinary and relentless efforts” for her release.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he advocates for the release of U.S. citizens who have been wrongfully detained in foreign countries.
- For Secretary Rubio and U.S. diplomats as they engage in discussions with foreign ministers and heads of state.
