Today is the deadline for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Research Facilities Act Program grant applications. Applicants must provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match for the funding opportunity through the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) to address decades of deferred maintenance and accelerate modernization of agricultural research facilities across the country.

USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins said, “A nation that cannot feed itself is not secure and, for too long, many of our Land-grant Universities have faced aging facilities and mounting deferred maintenance costs that threaten their ability to conduct world-class agricultural research.”

Secretary Rollins explained that the $125 million investment will “ensure America’s farmers and ranchers continue to benefit from the innovation that secures our vital U.S. agriculture industry and allows us to feed, clothe and fuel not only our nation but the world.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Rollins and USDA officials as they oversee investments into agricultural research facilities.
  • For President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they seek to strengthen the nation’s food supply and infrastructure.
  • For Senators and Representatives as they consider the Farm Bill to support the agriculture sector.
