Labor Department Investigates H-1B Visa Fraud

The vice president stated, “American jobs should go to American workers, not foreign fraudsters.”

Vice President JD Vance spoke about the progress his task force is making in addressing fraud. Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito announced that dozens of subpoenas have been issued as part of a major investigation into H-1B visa fraud.

“American jobs ought to go to American workers and not foreign fraudsters, and the Department of Labor is fighting back against it,” Vice President Vance said. “Big corporations and fraudsters overseas are using this program to undercut the wages of American workers. If you are trying to take advantage of that visa program, you are not allowed into the United States.”

“This is not just people working in factories or actual labor,” the labor inspector general said of the fraudsters. “These are people working in medical facilities and doctors’ offices that are actually putting people in harm’s way.”

IG D’Esposito said, “Much of the visa and the human trafficking that we see when it comes to this foreign labor is tied to cartels, is tied to transnational gangs, and this is the work that we should be doing, not only to make America safe again, but to make America more affordable again.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Vice President Vance as he heads the task force to eliminate fraud.
  • For Inspector General D’Esposito as he oversees the H-1B fraud investigation.
  • For U.S. officials to be discerning in their reviews of visa applications, particularly for U.S. work visas.
  • For federal enforcement officers as they seek to eliminate trafficking networks and rescue victims.
