DHS Issues Terminations of Temporary Protected Status for 7 Nations

American and Homeland Security flags
The “limited relief” from the agency allows time for lower courts to align

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued notices to Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) users regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for natives of Haiti, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Ethiopia, Burma (Myanmar), and South Sudan. The agency stated that TPS remains valid through July 10.

The notices are not an extension of protected status but rather a “limited relief” measure put in place as lower courts “align” with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling, which upheld the authority of the Department of Homeland Security to end TPS for Haiti and Syria. Various federal judges have placed injunctions against the administration’s termination of protected status for natives of several of these countries.

While the designation was created to be temporary, the status has often been extended for many years.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Joseph Edlow as he oversees U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • For Secretary Mullin to be led by the Lord as he manages the Department of Homeland Security and its agencies.
  • For the natives of other nations to find the assistance they need to properly adapt to changes in their temporary protected status.
