President Trump Urges Congress to Unify to Pass Legislation

Members of the House have threatened to block measures passed by the Senate if the SAVE Act isn’t enacted.

President Donald Trump called on his party in the House to unify to pass legislation after the Senate adjourned early for the July 4th recess.

Representative Anna Paulina Luna of Florida had proposed blocking all measures from the Senate until the upper chamber passes the SAVE America Act. Representatives Randy Fine of Florida, Keith Self of Texas, and Mark Harris of North Carolina had proposed a similar stance as leverage to promote the election integrity measure passed earlier this year.

President Trump stated members of the majority “should unify, and stop voting down ‘Rules’ or, threatening to do so.” He said that giving the minority party “control [of] what goes up for a Vote will make our outcomes worse, not better.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he advocates for unity in his party among federal legislators.
  • For wisdom for Speaker Mike Johnson and representatives in the House as they consider bills for a vote.
