He says the U.S. will let the framework agreement’s 60 days “play out.”
President Donald Trump responded to the postponement of the in-person ceremonial signing of the memorandum of understanding with Iran and the negotiations that had been set to take place on Friday in Switzerland with mediators from Pakistan and Qatar.
President Trump said of the indirect talks that resulted in the current agreement, “We didn’t meet out of desperation, Iran did. They are FINISHED! We’ll play out the 60 days. They get no money, not ten cents!“
The president highlighted, “The War has diminished Iran! It doesn’t, any longer, have an Air Force, a Navy, Antiaircraft Equipment, Radar, or practically anything else.“
Israel and Hezbollah, which were engaged in attacks that reportedly contributed to the delay of the meeting between the U.S. and Iran, agreed to a ceasefire beginning Friday afternoon. The framework agreement, signed electronically by President Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, is in effect.
