President Trump Signs Agreement with Iran Early

The deal was set to be signed on Friday, but mediators advocated a remote electronic signing of the agreement.

At the G7 Summit in France, President Donald Trump signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ending the conflict with Iran late Wednesday. Mediators encouraged a remote electronic signing rather than the physical ceremony in Switzerland.

A U.S. official confirmed, “On Sunday, the MOU was signed digitally by Vice President Vance and Speaker Ghalibaf and witnessed by President Trump. Now, it has been signed by President Trump and President Pezeshkian.”

A senior administration official also read the text of the agreement to members of the press on Wednesday. The deal includes the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon; a commitment to negotiate and achieve the final deal within a maximum of 60 days, extendable with mutual consent; and the beginning of the removal of the U.S. blockade, to be fully lifted within 30 days. The Strait of Hormuz would be fully opened, with no fees charged by Iran, sanctions against Iran would end, while Iran would reaffirm that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons, and would dispossess itself of enriched material.

Vice President J.D. Vance is expected to attend a signing ceremony in Switzerland on Friday.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and the mediators and representatives who continue working to resolve the conflict with Iran.
  • For wisdom for the president and his negotiators as they pursue the peace agreement.
