Wednesday, June 10

Today, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins is testifying before the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, chaired by Senator John Boozman of Arkansas.

The Senate committee is in the process of reauthorizing the Farm Bill, which sets national agriculture, nutrition, conservation, and forestry policy for five to six years. The programs under the Farm Bill provide support for farmers to manage the risks of natural disasters, trade wars, and market downturns.

The Congressional Baseball Game will be held this evening at the Washington Nationals ballpark. The Republican team has won the annual contest against the Democrats for the past five years. Funding from ticket sales for the event goes to Congressional Sports for Charity.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Rollins to provide the Senate committee with the relevant and accurate data and information they need to reauthorize the Farm Bill.
  • For President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they seek to support U.S. farmers and producers.
  • For discernment for senators and representatives as they craft legislation to fund federal programs.
