Iran had backed out of indirect ceasefire negotiations after Israel responded to Hezbollah’s attacks.
President Donald Trump announced that Israel agreed to stop its planned raid of Beirut after being attacked by Hezbollah. The president had conversations with Prime Minister Netanyahu once the Iranian regime shut down indirect ceasefire talks with the U.S. over the Israeli response to the actions of Iran’s proxy in Lebanon. The Iranians called Israel’s move a “breach of the truce.”
President Trump stated, “I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his Troops around. Thank you Bibi!”
He continued, “I also had a conversation with Representatives of the Leaders of Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel, and its soldiers. Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let’s see how long that lasts — Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY!”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for President Trump as he continues to pursue the ceasefire with Iran.
- For U.S. negotiators as they conduct indirect discussions with mediators for peace.
- For the president and administration officials to be discerning as they assess situations in the Middle East.
