He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6
Have you ever struggled to complete a large project? The thought of the Heavenly Father completing a good work in you would be very encouraging as you put effort into earning a diploma, painting a house, or writing a book. Take a moment to ponder the commitment required as you go through the ups and downs of completing a work. You have accepted Jesus as your Savior. Now, the Father is determined to accomplish His will in and through you.
When you receive Jesus as your Savior, He gives you the gift of the Holy Spirit, who works in you to produce godly character. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23). What a good work He is doing in you!
While you are on this Earth, you are called to good works. Are you aware of what God has called you to do? Do you share His heart for those who are hurting or in need? The Father works in a willing heart. Part of this willingness develops through prayer. Praying aligns your heart with God’s and prepares you to carry out His will on the earth. While He is sovereign, prayer allows Him to manifest His will in and through you personally.
The book of Esther illustrates that the will of God is going to be accomplished. It is up to you to be available to Him. Pray for God’s purposes to be fulfilled in this country. Pray for the salvation of souls and the unity of the body of Christ.
