Secretary of State Marco Rubio is traveling to Italy to meet with Pope Leo XIV and Vatican officials.
“Secretary Rubio will meet with Holy See leadership to discuss the situation in the Middle East and mutual interests in the Western Hemisphere,“ State Department Spokesperson Tommy Pigott announced. “Meetings with Italian counterparts will be focused on shared security interests and strategic alignment.“
Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers is visiting Belgrade, Serbia. The State Department said, “Under Secretary Rogers will sign a Participation Agreement formalizing the United States’ participation in Expo 2027. … The Under Secretary will also meet with members of the Serbian government to discuss our shared priorities in the Western Balkans.“
