FTA Invests in U.S. Ferry Infrastructure

Applications are open to companies interested in helping to expand water-based infrastructure.

Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will invest $657 million into America’s ferry services and infrastructure. These finances will be used to modernize existing infrastructure and build new routes and ferries.

The department notice outlines key items that must be included in project proposals. These include how the project will make ferry travel more family-friendly, provide accessibility to those who have disabilities, and post real-time, easy-to-read information for passengers in waiting areas.

“Under President Trump, America is building again and that includes our nation’s ferry fleet responsible for moving American families,“ said Secretary Duffy. “This investment will expand routes and fund new ferries to give American workers and families more transportation options in both rural and urban cities.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  •  For Secretary Duffy to seek God’s wisdom as he facilitates investments into ferry travel across America.
  • For Acting Executive Director Jamie Pfister as she oversees the FTA and efforts to improve infrastructure.
  • For DOT and FTA officials as they work to strengthen ferry systems.
