Seven Ukrainian children are being returned to their families after their forcible relocation to Russia.
First Lady Melania Trump has expedited the return of Ukrainian children to their families for the fourth time during the Russia-Ukraine war. A half dozen children are being relocated from Russia and reunified with their families in Ukraine, while a seventh is set to be returned later this month.
The first lady said, “Reunifying children with their loved ones in this region of the world remains one of the most important global issues today. I am encouraged that both sides remain committed to ongoing cooperation, raising the safety and well-being of children above this abhorrent war.”
The White House stated, “First Lady Melania Trump and her representative remain engaged in ongoing work with Russia and Ukraine to identify and reunify those individuals who have been displaced as a result of the ongoing war.“
Ukraine has reported over 20,000 cases of forcibly relocated children are being processed. A United Nations (U.N.) investigation found the actions of Russia on this issue to be a crime against humanity.
