Hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts. – Romans 5:5
Have you ever watched water gush out of a fire hose? What makes it different from water that flows out of an ordinary garden hose? The fire hose utilizes an incredible amount of pressure that allows much more water to come from it. Do you see God’s love more like a fire hose or a garden hose?
Life is full of trials and tribulations, whether the struggle is with disease, finances, relationships, or something else. But any of these pressures can cultivate hope in God. As Paul points out in Romans chapter 5, this is a hope that cannot let you down. The Lord has already proven His intention to complete the work He has started through the love He has poured out into the hearts of His children (Philippians 1:6). This love is not being poured into your heart as the mere trickle of a garden hose. God wants you to receive the full, immense outpouring of His love through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:19), like a spiritual fire hose.
Are you ready to experience a love like that today? Reach out to the Lord and ask Him to renew your hope, so you receive the fullness of His unfailing, unconditional love for you. Pray that the citizens of this nation turn to the Lord, recognize, and accept His love. Ask God to use you to share His love and build up hope in those around you. And pray that the people of the United States would radiate His love and hope to the rest of the world.
Today’s Verse: Romans 5:5

13 So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
