Officials warn that Iran-linked operatives could target Americans abroad.
The U.S. State Department issued a Worldwide Caution security alert this week for Americans around the globe, but especially those in the Middle East.
The State Department said, “Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world.”
The department instructed, “Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Periodic airspace closures may cause travel disruptions. U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted.”
The department also noted that more than 70,000 Americans have returned to the United States from the Middle East since Operation Epic Fury began.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary of State Marco Rubio to be led by the Lord as he heads the State Department.
- For U.S. diplomats and ambassadors as they work to ensure the security of Americans abroad.
- For prudence for U.S. citizens as they travel internationally.
