State Department Reports 50k Americans returned from Middle East

As the war in Iran continues, the agency continues to provide evacuation options.

The State Department reported that, of the approximately 50,000 Americans who have safely returned to the United States from the Middle East during the conflict in Iran, the agency has assisted nearly 34,000 American citizens in evacuating the region. More than four dozen charter flights have been completed, and a 24/7 task force was established to assist Americans seeking to return home.

Officials stated that Americans in Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates can complete a crisis intake form to receive assistance for their departure. The State Department also noted that as commercial flight availability in the region improves, the ground transport and charter options through the department will decrease, as demand lessens.

“Most Americans who requested assistance have declined assistance when offered, opting either to remain in country or book commercial flight options,” the department said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary of State Marco Rubio as he oversees efforts to ensure U.S. citizens are able to depart the Middle East.
  • For officials in the State Department as they coordinate the evacuation of American citizens near the conflict in Iran.
  • For members of the State Department’s task force as they support Americans needing assistance.
