Today, President Donald Trump is hosting Latin American leaders at a Shield of the Americas Summit at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida. The president announced this week that Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem will transition to become the Envoy of the Shield of the Americas at the end of this month.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the summit is intended to promote “freedom, security, and prosperity in our region.” She said that heads of state from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago have been invited to the summit.
The press secretary added that countries “have really formed a historic coalition to work together to address criminal narco-terrorist gangs and cartels and counter illegal and mass migration into not only the United States but the Western Hemisphere, which remains a key and top priority of this president.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he seeks to strengthen the coalition to prevent narcoterrorism.
- For the president and leaders of the Latin American nations to be discerning in their discussions.
- For Secretary Noem as she transitions to the position of Envoy and for Senator Mullin as he prepares to head Homeland Security.
- For the safety of U.S. military personnel around the globe, particularly in the Middle East, as they serve to protect the nation and the free world.
