The Metropolitan Police Department and the Department of Justice declined to press charges.
The Office of Inspector General conducted an investigation into Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s husband, Dr. Shawn DeRemer, after allegations that he committed sexual assault in the Department of Labor building.
District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Jeannine Pirro stated, “Based upon the evidence presented to this office in relation to the video, there is no indication of a crime.”
Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department also conducted and concluded its investigation into the matter.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa launched a separate investigation into reports that Secretary Chavez-DeRemer had taken subordinates to a strip club during a trip to Oregon.
