Immigration enforcement will focus on criminal illegals already in state and local custody.
Border Czar Tom Homan reported that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations are focusing on transferring criminal illegal aliens from state and local jails to federal custody and a reduction in street operations, which have drawn protests that have led to dangerous clashes with federal agents. He said that federal officers would move out of Minnesota as the law enforcement cooperation advances.
“We are not surrendering the president’s mission on immigration enforcement,” the border czar stated. “We will conduct targeted enforcement operations. Targeted. What we’ve done for decades.”
Mr. Homan explained, “ICE is enforcing laws enacted by Congress, the same laws on the books for the last 6 presidents I worked for!“
He urged those who opposed the enforcement of immigration laws, “Go PROTEST CONGRESS, tell them you want changes! I don’t want to see anybody die. Not officers, not members of the community, and not the targets of our operations.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Border Czar Homan to be prudent in his oversight of federal immigration enforcement.
- For the president and members of his Cabinet as they seek to uphold federal laws.
- For the safety of ICE and CBP officers as they carry out operations.
- That protestors would peacefully demonstrate without physically interfering with federal law enforcement.
