Grants support data-driven approaches to nutrition and long-term health outcomes.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded $4.8 million to seven research projects directed at preventing and managing chronic disease across different life stages. Funded through the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative’s (AFRI ) Food Safety, Nutrition, and Health program, the projects focus on promoting healthy dietary choices using flexible, evidence-based, and consumer-oriented strategies.
Award recipients include Southern Illinois University, Florida State University, North Carolina A&T State University, Public Health Foundation Enterprises Inc., Texas A&M AgriLife Research, the University of Tennessee, and Utah State University. USDA officials said the research will contribute to a broader understanding of how nutrition-related interventions can support public health over time.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Director Jaye Hamby to be led by the Lord as he heads NIFA.
- For Secretary Rollins to be prudent in her management of the USDA.
- For U.S. researchers and scientists working to address diet-related chronic disease through nutrition and health research.
