The Supreme Court is expected to release a ruling on the president’s tariff policy this month.
President Donald Trump announced earlier this week that countries that do business with Iran will pay a tariff of 25 percent on trade with the U.S. There has yet to be any official documentation released on this policy from the White House. It is also unclear at this time if this policy is intended to target all of Iran’s trading partners, or a select few of its top partners, including China, Turkey, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and India.
The new policy was announced in response to some of the largest anti-government protests that Iran has experienced in years. President Trump is considering U.S. military action since the Islamic regime in Tehran has shut down communications and has killed at least hundreds of protestors.
President Trump’s tariff policy under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act has faced legal challenges. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling in the near future regarding this policy’s constitutionality.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for President Trump as he oversees the implementation of this new tariff.
- For the president and members of his administration as they interact with the leaders of other governments to discuss trade.
- For discernment for President Trump and his advisors as they determine what action to take toward Iran.
