The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced that the pay increase for federal law enforcement is effective today. The raise for specified law enforcement personnel was requested by President Trump in an executive order issued last month.

“These new special rates support ongoing agency hiring efforts for mission-critical law enforcement positions essential to implementing the administration’s priorities to secure the border, enforce federal laws, and protect public safety,” OPM Director Scott Kupor stated in a memo. “Without these special rates, agencies may face challenges in recruiting and retaining the personnel needed to carry out these missions effectively.”

The 3.8 percent increase is more than triple the 1 percent raise that most civilian federal employees will receive.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he seeks to ensure federal law enforcement agencies are adequately staffed.
  • That Director Kupor heads the Office of Personnel Management with discernment and integrity.
  • For the safety of federal law enforcement officers in every department and agency.
